Recognizing niche technology as a key driver for growth, MRA pursues strategic development and deployment of technology to further enhance operational excellence and maximize the potential of our clients' existing assets and emerging assets.

Our technology aspires us to be at the forefront in delivering integrated innovative technology solutions and projects across upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors, power plant sectors by anchoring on the following areas:

  • Delivering comprehensive report up to 1st level of fitness for service assessment to customers at competitive value.
  • Addressing issues related to environmental protection and the safety of technological facilities and people.
  • Increasing productivity through reduced operation downtime.
  • Developing and deploying technology to meet the industry’s current and future needs.
Introduction to HATs
Assuring the integrity of an aging assets has been a big challenge to the owner and operator for years, where a holistic inspection coverage is nearly impossible to be performed without interruption to the operating parameters of the asset.

Hybrid Acoustic Technology system (HATs) is an advanced diagnostic and assessment technique to study reliability of an assets. It is an integration of multiple Non-Destructive Examination (NDE) methods, acoustic emission technique and advanced data analysis & interpretation to assess the condition of inspected assets. HATs capability is focused to detect active anomalies, which are continuously growing and deteriorating in current operating parameters.

Utilizing HATs provides 100% inspection coverage with minimal accessibility and no interruption to the assets operating parameters.

Introduction to HATs
Operation Excellence
Inspection to be performed without intervention to operation and production
Wide Operating Range
It is operable from -40°C to 500°C (using waveguide for extreme temperature).
Non Destructive
No modification to the material during the diagnostic.
Lean Operation
The operation parameters are maintained.
Reliable & Instant
  • Reliable and real-time data acquisition.
  • Ease in maintenance regime
More Practical
No special assembly unit is required when performing the inspection.
Better Workflow
Simplify the preparation of Standards and Procedures.
High Accuracy
Not affected by variable diameter, fittings and flanges, limited accessibility and can be applied in any climatic conditions.
Comparison HATs with other inspection method
HATs Methods Other NDT Methods
Detect deformation development of anomalies and condition Detect geometric of anomalies
Requires damage mechanism to be present Do not require damage mechanism
Result dependent on loading and auxiliary inspection Result is repeatable regardless of loading.
Non-intrusive, no interruption to operation May be intrusive and may interrupt operation
Requires minimal access and surface preparation Require access to whole area or most area of inspection
Covers the whole object under inspection Scan at localized area in sequence
Does not requires plant shutdown for inspection activities Requires plant shutdown for inspection activities
HATs is USER FRIENDLY, OPERATIONAL-FRIENDLY AND ENVIRONMENTAL-FRIENDLY.
How HATs Works
HATs is an acoustic measurement type inspection method utilizing the release of energy from deforming anomalies. The energy originates from the deforming material itself, transmitted through the structure and excites the sensor(s).
AUXILIARY INSPECTION
& ACTIVITIES

  • Prepare the inspection object (IO) for data acquisition as per described scheme.

  • Assess the condition of the IO by means of conventional NDE methods at the accessible areas.
ACOUSTIC
MEASUREMENT

  • Real time data acquisition which collect acoustic parameters from active anomalies in current operating parameters.

  • Providing 100% inspection coverage of IO with minimal accessibility.
ADVANCED ANALYSIS
& INTERPRETATION

  • Advanced algorithms and data analysis & processing technique for assessing the condition of IO.

  • Corroboration between previous inspection data, auxiliary inspection data and acoustic data for a total inspection programme.
ANOMALY & REMAINING
LIFE ASSESSMENT

  • Anomaly assessment in accordance to relative international standard such as API, DNV, ASME etc.
